Israel's Greenhouse Gas Emissions Drop 3% in 2025
Greenhouse gas emissions in Israel decreased by an additional 3% in 2025, according to data released by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. Despite this positive trend, methane emissions from landfills saw a significant surge of 38%.
The ministry reported that the reduction in overall emissions saved the Israeli economy approximately 4.2 billion shekels. The report also identified the top 20 facilities contributing the most to air pollution based on external costs.
Leading this list were power stations operated by the Israel Electric Corporation, the Nesher factory in Ramla, and the Efa landfill.
