Hapoel Haifa Nears Signing of Winger Djikité

Following a season-opening draw against Hapoel Tel Aviv, Israeli football club Hapoel Haifa is set to bolster its attacking lineup with the expected signing of winger Chikana Djikité this week. The Malian player, who has been on trial with the club, has impressed the coaching staff with his speed and technical skills, and his versatility to play on both the left and right wings. "He can give us many things that we are missing," Hapoel Haifa officials stated, adding that further attacking reinforcements might join before the transfer window closes.

Meanwhile, forward William Agada made a lukewarm debut, playing more minutes than initially planned due to his current fitness level. Coach Haim Silvas acknowledged Agada's situation, noting that while the player arrived in better physical condition than anticipated, he is still not at full match fitness. Silvas expressed confidence that Agada will integrate into the team's system and contribute significantly once fully settled.

The club is also looking to increase home attendance. Over 10,000 fans attended the recent match at Sammy Ofer Stadium, with the majority being away supporters from Hapoel Tel Aviv, generating nearly 600,000 shekels from ticket sales. Hapoel Haifa hopes for greater support from its own fanbase in upcoming games, despite an encouraging start to the season. "The crowd came, and I hope we play well and they will be proud and trust us and come to the stadiums more. This can be our advantage going forward," Silvas commented.
