New Music Group Releases 'Elul Medley' Filmed at Holy Sites

The music group 'Lev Chadash' (New Heart) has released a new music video titled 'Elul Medley,' featuring a compilation of melodies from Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and Chabad traditions. The video was filmed at significant religious and natural locations, including the Cave of the Patriarchs, the tomb of Jesse and Ruth, and a forest, in anticipation of the High Holy Days.

The medley combines one melody by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach with two ancient Chabad melodies, woven together to create a cohesive piece. The band explained that the project stems from the belief that music offers a direct path to spiritual connection, fostering love, trust, devotion, and joy.

The filming locations were chosen to deepen the connection to God through the Patriarchs and the Land of Israel. The Cave of the Patriarchs and the tomb of Jesse and Ruth were selected for their historical and spiritual significance. Additionally, a portion of the video was shot in a forest, inspired by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov's teachings on experiencing God's presence in nature.

'Lev Chadash' aims for the music to provide a moment of pause during the month of Elul, allowing listeners to internalize the melodies and prepare for the upcoming High Holy Days, a period of introspection and repentance.
