Second Fatal Shooting in Jaffa in 48 Hours; Another Injured

Jaffa experienced a second fatal shooting within 48 hours on Sunday morning, when a young man from Jaljulia was shot and killed on Leib Ben Sarah Street. The victim was identified as Mohammed Rafat Ahmed Katwan. During the same incident, another 20-year-old man was seriously injured and found on the nearby Harav M'Lilov Street. MDA (Magen David Adom) received the initial report at 1:11 AM. Paramedics found Katwan with no signs of life and pronounced him dead at the scene. Six minutes later, a report came in about the second victim, who was conscious and in serious condition. He was transported to Wolfson Hospital. Police forces and forensic investigators arrived at both locations, collected evidence, and began searching for suspects. The investigation has been transferred to the Tel Aviv District's Central Unit. The shooting occurred while police were still investigating a previous murder in Jaffa. On Friday morning, 29-year-old Ahmed Abed Shukra from Jaffa was shot and killed while riding an electric bicycle on Jerusalem Boulevard. Initial investigations suggest a jeep stopped near him, and an occupant opened fire. Three Jaffa residents in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in Shukra's murder. Two were apprehended in Holon after allegedly discarding a Glock pistol, which was recovered. The suspected getaway jeep was also seized. The three suspects were brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court and remanded in custody until September 3rd.
