Fatal Chain-Reaction Crash on Coastal Highway Kills One, Injures Six
A woman in her 50s was killed and six others were injured in a four-vehicle collision on Highway 2 near Atlit early Tuesday morning. The crash occurred around 6:13 AM, according to Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services.
Paramedics arriving at the scene found a severe accident involving one completely crushed car, another overturned vehicle, and two others with significant damage. The deceased woman was trapped inside the destroyed vehicle, unconscious with no pulse or respiration and severe injuries. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
Among the injured, a man in his 60s sustained serious injuries and was evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. Five other individuals suffered minor injuries and were taken to Hillel Yaffe and Rambam Medical Center for further treatment.
The Israel Police have opened an investigation into the fatal accident. Traffic accident investigators from the coastal district are at the scene to determine the circumstances of the crash.
