Fatal Chain-Reaction Crash on Coastal Highway Kills One, Injures Seven

A woman, approximately 50 years old, was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 2 near Atlit early Sunday morning. The crash, which occurred at 6:13 AM, involved four private vehicles and resulted in one fatality and seven injuries.

Large teams from Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national emergency medical service, responded to the scene. They found a severe collision with one car completely crushed and another overturned. Paramedics described the scene as "difficult," noting the crushed vehicle contained a woman, around 50, who was unconscious, without pulse or respiration, and with severe injuries.

Despite their efforts, medical personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene. In the overturned vehicle, a man in his 60s was trapped and conscious. While he was being extricated, he received life-saving medical treatment. After his rescue, he was evacuated to the hospital in serious condition.

In addition to the fatality and the seriously injured man, MDA teams treated five other individuals who sustained minor injuries. These five were transported to Hillel Yaffe and Rambam hospitals for further medical attention.
