Yinon Magal, a prominent Israeli media personality and host of 'The Patriots' on Channel 14, sharply criticized Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara's decision to cancel the official memorial and commemoration events for Rabbi Ovadia Yosef due to their proximity to the upcoming elections. Speaking during a special protest broadcast on Kol Barama radio, Magal described the cancellation as "a terrible and distorted decision" and expressed disbelief, calling it "simply infuriating" to cancel the remembrance of such an important figure.

Magal further accused Baharav-Miara of acting like a politician or opposition leader rather than a legal authority, expressing hope that she would be removed from her position after the elections. He lamented the current state of affairs, stating that there is now widespread animosity toward Torah scholars.
