Hapoel Jerusalem's Medmon Injured Before Match; Ferda Returns After Long Absence
Hapoel Jerusalem is set to face Hapoel Petah Tikva on Saturday in the second round of the Israeli Premier League. The Jerusalem team aims to recover from a heavy 5-2 defeat against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the opening round. However, midfielder Ilay Madmon suffered a groin injury during the final training session and will miss the upcoming match. His condition will be reassessed early next week to determine the extent of the injury.
In Madmon's absence, Einav Ferda will be included in the squad. Ferda is returning after nearly 17 months sidelined by injuries and has only made one appearance since March 2025. Although not yet fit for significant playing time, the team is enthusiastic about his return to the lineup.
The expected starting lineup for Hapoel Jerusalem includes Nadav Zamir; Tamir Haimovich, Noam Malmod, Yonatan Leish, Ofek Nadir; Omer Avuhab, Christ Tiahi, Yanai Distelfeld; Ohad Almogor, Vitali Damshkan, and Israel Dafa.
