Four-Year-Old Boy in Arad Critically Injured After Suspected Yellow Scorpion Sting

A four-year-old boy in Arad was critically injured after being stung by a suspected yellow scorpion on Thursday evening. He was initially taken to a local clinic suffering from severe shortness of breath and sting marks on his leg. Paramedics from Magen David Adom provided life-saving treatment at the clinic, including sedation and assisted ventilation, before transferring him to Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva.

Paramedics Idan Milman and Mahmoud Azbargha reported that the boy was conscious but experiencing severe respiratory distress when they arrived. They administered urgent and stabilizing care on site, including sedation and ventilation, prior to his hospital transfer. The boy remains in serious condition, sedated and on a ventilator at Soroka.

The incident highlights the dangers posed by scorpion stings in the region and the critical role of emergency medical services in providing rapid treatment to prevent fatalities.
