Yuval Dayan and Gali Atari Release First Duet After a Decade of Collaboration

Israeli singers Yuval Dayan and Gali Atari have released their first official duet titled "Ein Li Leilot" (I Have No Nights) as part of Dayan's new album "Hine Bau HaYamim" (Here Come the Days). The song, which Dayan composed with lyrics co-written by Or Milshtein and Omri Kastan, reflects on the current social and security situation in Israel. Although this is their first recorded duet, the two artists have a history of performing together over the past decade, with Atari initiating their first joint appearance at a Caesarea concert about ten years ago.

In a radio interview on Kan Hadashot's "Bachatzay HaYom" program, Atari described their relationship as longstanding, noting that while they never recorded a song together before, they frequently appeared as guests in each other's performances. Dayan recalled a pivotal moment during a vocal lesson with teacher Rachel Hochman, who encouraged them to collaborate after hearing Atari's songs. This led to the eventual creation of their duet, which they say closes a circle in their artistic connection.

Dayan expressed that the song emerged from feelings shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing challenges in Israel, describing the past six years as a continuous, difficult stretch. She hopes the new year will bring a fresh melody and order to the country. Both artists are optimistic about future collaborations following the release of this song and Dayan's acclaimed album.
