Thousands Including Hundreds of Samaria Women Pray at Joseph's Tomb Ahead of Rosh Hashanah

On Thursday night, thousands of worshippers entered Joseph's Tomb in Nablus (Shechem) for special prayers marking the approach of Rosh Hashanah. The event was organized by the Samaria Regional Council with assistance from volunteers of the Joseph's Tomb and Holy Sites Administration, alongside the support of the IDF and the Samaria Brigade. Among the attendees was a large group of women from the Samaria region, who prayed for a good year, the security of the Israeli people, the safety of IDF soldiers, and the return of hostages.

Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, emphasized the deep and eternal connection of the Jewish people to Joseph's Tomb, calling it a sacred site that should not be accessible only during nighttime hours. He expressed gratitude to the IDF soldiers and all involved in facilitating the visit and pledged to continue efforts until full and permanent access to the site is restored, including establishing a permanent presence with the Israeli flag flying.

Dagan also thanked Samaria Brigade Commander David Cohen, the Samaria Civil Administration officer Israel Rosenfeld, Border Police forces, and the volunteers of the Joseph's Tomb Administration affiliated with the Samaria Regional Council. The prayers and organized visit underscore the significance of Joseph's Tomb as a spiritual and national symbol for Israelis, especially during the High Holidays.
