US Designates Radical Pro-Palestinian Group Palestine Action as Terror Organization

The Trump administration is set to declare the radical pro-Palestinian group Palestine Action as a global terrorist organization, according to a report by the British Telegraph. This designation by the US Treasury and State Department will immediately freeze all assets of the group and its members within US jurisdiction, prohibit American citizens and entities from engaging in financial or practical dealings with them, and impose secondary sanctions on international entities aiding the group.

Palestine Action, founded in the UK and expanded to the US, gained notoriety through direct action and violent sabotage targeting defense infrastructure, particularly factories supplying equipment to Israel. Their activities included breaking into secured facilities, damaging expensive equipment with red paint, blocking production lines, and sharing videos encouraging criminal damage to defense infrastructure, causing millions of dollars in damages. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasized the administration's determination to cut off extremist networks, stating the group uses violence under the guise of political protest and that the US will not allow anarchist and extremist networks to operate or use its financial system.

This move follows the UK government's July 2025 decision to outlaw Palestine Action under British terrorism laws. The US action is part of broader sanctions against radical leftist and pro-Palestinian terror-linked groups, including the global network Masar Badil and other anarchist groups in Europe. The designation severely hampers Palestine Action's ability to raise funds, maintain bank accounts, and conduct further provocations.

Pro-Israel organizations and conservative groups in the US welcomed the designation as a necessary step to protect domestic industries and security. Conversely, Palestine Action and left-wing civil rights groups condemned the move as an attempt to silence pro-Palestinian protest and suppress dissent.
