Bus Driver Dies, 19 Injured in Northern Israel Collision

Emergency services received the initial report of the collision at 12:00 PM. Fire and rescue teams from the Galil Golan station worked to extricate the bus driver, who was trapped in his cabin. Magen David Adom paramedics attempted resuscitation but were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.

The truck driver, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries to his lower limbs and was airlifted by helicopter to the hospital. Eighteen bus passengers, all around 20 years old, suffered minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Ziv Hospital in Safed.

Police accident investigators have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Highway 91 was closed in both directions following the incident, and drivers were advised to use alternative routes.
