Chabad Rabbis Meet Netanyahu Ahead of UN Speech, Present Gifts
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Chabad rabbis and Chairman Rabbi Aaronov shortly before departing for New York to address the United Nations. The delegation presented Netanyahu with the "Four Species" (etrog, lulav, hadassim, aravot), commonly used during the Sukkot holiday, and a new book titled "Oseh Shalom" (Makes Peace).
During the meeting, held in the cabinet room, the group played the Chabad nigun (melody) "L'chatchila Ariber" with the Prime Minister. The encounter took place on the yahrzeit (anniversary of the death) of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh Rebbe of Chabad.
The meeting and gift-giving occurred just hours before Netanyahu's flight aboard the "Wings of Zion" aircraft to New York for his address at UN headquarters.
