A Hebrew University-led study found PFAS chemicals in potatoes and potato leaves sampled from fields in the Gaza envelope, with lower levels in the tubers and higher levels in the leaves. The researchers say the contamination may be linked in part to airborne material from explosives, and PFAS compounds were also found in soils near the border. The Health Ministry said it conducted an initial survey and will publish a summary report.
