The story · English

Israel Hayom announced the appointment of Professor Yuval Elbashan as its senior legal commentator. Elbashan, 56, is a law professor, community lawyer, and author who previously served as dean of the Faculty of Law at Ono Academic College. In his new role, he will publish legal and current affairs commentary throughout the week and in the weekend supplement, "Israel This Week."

Elbashan has been active in the media for years, contributing opinion columns and participating in radio and television programs. He has authored seven novels, including bestsellers such as "Always Flora," "Sipo," and "The Masada File," as well as five legal books like "Strangers in Court," "Lawyers of the Oppressed," and "The Last Appeal."

Israel Hayom's editor-in-chief, Amr Lachmanovich, praised Elbashan as one of Israel's most original, critical, and knowledgeable legal experts, emphasizing the importance of his voice amid the judiciary's central role in public discourse. Elbashan expressed his commitment to making legal issues accessible to the public and promised to strive for balanced and objective analysis, hoping to overcome personal and ideological biases.
