Israeli Legal Commentator Gil Bringer Joins Yedioth Ahronoth From Israel Hayom
Senior legal commentator and publicist Gil Bringer announced his departure from Israel Hayom and his move to Yedioth Ahronoth, where he will begin publishing a weekly legal column in the newspaper's Saturday supplement starting this weekend. In his announcement, Bringer expressed gratitude to the editors of Israel Hayom for their trust and thanked Yedioth Ahronoth's editor-in-chief, Elad Tena, for the invitation to join the supplement.
Bringer, 43, a doctoral candidate in law at the Hebrew University, is recognized as a leading conservative-liberal thinker in Israeli law, with significant influence in both journalistic and academic circles. Previously, he wrote the weekly column "The Reasonable Man" for Globes and published influential legal philosophy articles in journals such as HaShiloach.
His move to Yedioth Ahronoth's Saturday supplement represents a notable strengthening of conservative representation in one of Israel's widely read weekend editions. Beyond journalism, Bringer has a substantial background in public service and politics, having served as a close advisor to former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and as coordinator of the Ministerial Committee on Legislation, where he played a key role in judicial appointments and governance policy.
He also served as deputy CEO of the Population and Immigration Authority and was the national project manager who successfully led Israel's entry into the U.S. Visa Waiver Program in 2023. Currently, Bringer directs the Uman-Fisher Center for Law, Economics, and Public Policy at the Hebrew University and is a senior research fellow at the Tachlit Institute.
