Hapoel Ramat Gan concluded a promising Toto Cup campaign on August 17, 2026, with a narrow 5-4 penalty shootout loss to Beitar Jerusalem after a 3-3 draw in stoppage time. The team, coached by Massai Dago, showed strong offensive play and readiness for their upcoming league opener against Maccabi Haifa at Sammy Ofer Stadium on Saturday. However, defender and captain Jota will miss the match due to a red card received late in the game, marking a significant setback for the squad.

New signing Brazilian defender Marcio Silva was not included in the matchday squad but is expected to be integrated before the Maccabi Haifa game. Serbian midfielder Sergen Mihailovic made his debut and scored, while Marius Nuavisi also came close to scoring in his first appearance. The club criticized the refereeing, particularly questioning the validity of a goal by Anasa without Video Assistant Referee (VAR) support.

In transfer news, Hapoel Ramat Gan is aiming to strengthen their squad by signing an experienced goalkeeper. Reports indicate that the newly promoted club is pursuing Ido Sharon, a goalkeeper who developed at Hapoel Tel Aviv and is currently contracted to Ironi Tiberias. The club is keen to secure his services ahead of the new season.
