Beitar Jerusalem Fans March in Vienna Amid Heavy Police Presence and Antifa Protest

The story · English

Following their 1-2 loss to Austria Wien in Romania, Beitar Jerusalem aims to overturn the result in the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round second leg on Thursday at 21:30. Over a thousand Beitar fans are expected to attend the match in Vienna, where Austria Wien is still seeking its first Bundesliga win of the 2026/27 season after two rounds.

Ahead of the game, Beitar Jerusalem supporters will hold a march to the Generali Arena stadium, secured by hundreds of police officers and dozens of patrol vehicles. This event coincides with an Antifa-organized protest against Beitar Jerusalem, condemning the club as "Israel’s most racist" and opposing its presence in Vienna. The protest flyer states, "We will not allow Israel’s most racist club to play in our city without facing any reaction," and calls to "stop the racist game," highlighting the club’s association with far-right and racist fan culture over the years.

Before the march, former Hungarian football star István Pásztor joined the Beitar fan convoy, receiving a warm welcome as he boarded the minibus singing. The heightened security and protests underscore the tensions surrounding the match and the club’s controversial reputation internationally.
