Thousands of Beitar Jerusalem Fans Expected in Romania for Conference League Match

Beitar Jerusalem has begun preparations for their upcoming Conference League third qualifying round match against Austria Vienna, scheduled for Thursday in Romania. Coach Almog Cohen emphasized to his players the need to improve their performance, work harder, and play smarter to advance past this stage. Due to complaints about the poor condition of the pitch at their 'home' stadium in Ploiești, the club plans to request that the grass be cut shorter within UEFA regulations to improve playability, as the team struggled with ball control and slipping in the previous game.

Players Luka Gadrani and Tomer Yosefi have returned to the squad but are not expected to play in the first leg due to ongoing recovery from injuries, with a higher chance of participation in the second leg. Forward Jordan Shua reported feeling better after recovering from a virus over the weekend. Former Austria Vienna player Sean Weisman shared insights with teammates about the opponent’s strengths and the stadium atmosphere in Vienna.

Beitar has also requested airlines to increase flights to Romania, anticipating around 4,000 fans to travel and support the team. Austria Vienna fans will be allocated only 750 tickets in line with UEFA regulations, with a similar allocation expected for Beitar fans in the return leg. The club remains optimistic about their chances as they prepare for the crucial match.
