Over 40 Yaarot HaDevash Scholars Pass Rigorous One-Hour Muktzeh Laws Exam

The story · English

The Yaarot HaDevash kollel network, led by Rabbi Moshe Frish, recently held a significant and uplifting event marking the conclusion of an extensive study cycle. More than 40 scholars from the kollel's Shabbat laws division took a comprehensive final exam on the laws of muktzeh, which they had studied intensively for a year and a half. The exam lasted over an hour and was overseen by prominent rabbis and judges, including Rabbi Baruch Yehuda Heimlich of Toldot Aharon Hasidut, Rabbi Ephraim Fishel Motzen, head of the Beis Din in Kiryat Behasht in Petah Tikva, and Rabbi Chaim Shmerler, rabbi of the Heichal Tzvi Beit Midrash of Sanz Hasidim in Jerusalem.

During the exam, the scholars demonstrated impressive mastery and deep understanding of the relevant sections of the Shulchan Aruch and major halachic commentaries such as Shaarei Tzion and Biur Halacha. The examining rabbis expressed great admiration for the breadth and clarity of the students' knowledge. Following the exam, a festive celebratory meal was held to honor the completion of the Torah study cycle. Rabbi Moshe Frish delivered words of encouragement and praise for the scholars' dedication to Torah learning. The event concluded with spirited dancing by the scholars and rabbis in honor of Torah and its learners.
