Nearly 30 Dushinsky Yeshiva Scholars Honored in Major Torah Ceremony in Bnei Brak
A significant Torah celebration took place on Wednesday evening in the Dushinsky community in Bnei Brak, where nearly 30 yeshiva scholars were formally recognized as Torah experts. These scholars underwent rigorous examinations covering all areas of Torah study, including the Shulchan Aruch Orach Chayim and Yoreh Deah sections, as well as thousands of pages of Talmud, as part of the "Shkedu Veshameru" project. This initiative, established 15 years ago by the Dushinsky Rebbe himself, aims to deepen knowledge and mastery of Jewish law and Talmudic texts through memorization and repeated review, culminating in assessments by leading Torah authorities.
The third cycle of this program recently concluded with comprehensive exams administered by prominent rabbis such as Rabbi Eliezer David Shapira, Rabbi Maikel Friedman, Rabbi Gabriel Neufeld, and Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Bint, all respected figures within the Haredi community and Dushinsky leadership in Bnei Brak. The candidates demonstrated impressive proficiency, with some tested on thousands of pages of the Talmud.
The grand event was held in the community's central study hall, attracting hundreds of members who gathered to celebrate Torah and honor the scholars. The Dushinsky Rebbe, who oversees the entire "Shkedu Veshameru" project, led the ceremony and praised the honorees as the community's spiritual leaders. Other distinguished speakers included Rabbi Yirmiyahu Weiss and Rabbi Mordechai Gelber. The Rebbe also acknowledged his brother, son, and other senior rabbis present, highlighting the communal support for Torah excellence.
Certificates of distinction were awarded to all outstanding scholars, with special recognition given to the Rebbe's grandson, Rabbi Asher Dushinsky. The event underscored the community's commitment to Torah study and the cultivation of scholarly expertise within its ranks.
