Hezbollah commander Ali Musa Daqdouq dies from wounds after reported Israeli strike
Ali Musa Daqdouq, a senior Hezbollah figure, died on Sunday from injuries sustained in an Israeli assassination attempt, according to Lebanon-based accounts affiliated with Hezbollah. He was wounded about a year and a half ago while in Damascus. Reports published after his death did not say exactly how he died, but described him as a senior commander.
Daqdouq had previously commanded Hezbollah’s so-called Golan File in southern Syria, the front that Hassan Nasrallah had tried to build against Israel in the area. He was also involved in training pro-Iranian militias in Iraq. In November 2024, Israel tried to kill him in the Syrian capital, and since then his fate had remained unclear.
The United States also knew Daqdouq well and detained him in 2007 because of his terrorism activity. In December 2023, Israel killed his son, Hassan Musa Daqdouq, in Quneitra; he too was a member of the Golan File.
