Hezbollah commander Ali Mousa Dakdouk dies after Israeli strike wounds
Ali Mousa Dakdouk, a senior Hezbollah commander who headed the group’s so-called Golan File, has died, according to Lebanese media reports echoed by Hezbollah eulogies. He had been wounded in an Israeli assassination attempt in Damascus in November 2024, and his condition had remained unclear ever since.
Dakdouk was responsible for Hezbollah’s Golan front in southern Syria, part of the organization’s effort to build a confrontational line against Israel. He was also involved in training pro-Iranian militias in Iraq.
The reports did not provide further details about the circumstances of his death. The article notes that Israel killed Dakdouk’s son, Hassan Mousa Dakdouk, in December 2023; the son was also a member of the Golan File.
