Hezbollah Confirms Killing of Radwan Force Commander and His Family in Israeli Strike

Hezbollah has confirmed the killing of Ali Samir al-Hajj Hassan, a commander in its elite Radwan Force, along with his wife and four children in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Lebanese town of Ansar. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), al-Hajj Hassan was a key operational commander in Hezbollah's Radwan Force, which is responsible for offensive operations against Israel in southern Lebanon. The strike followed Hezbollah attacks on IDF forces in the security zone that injured three Israeli soldiers. Reports from sources opposed to Hezbollah indicated his family originally came from the town of Shmustar in the Bekaa Valley and that he relocated them to southern Lebanon to obscure his activities.
