Orphaned Groom Faces Financial Hardship Ahead of Wedding, Pleads for Public Help

מאת בשיתוף ועד הרבנים
תורגם ותומצת מתוך Behadrei Haredim על ידי baba
The story · English

Baruch, a young groom from Israel, is confronting profound loneliness and financial difficulties during what should be the happiest time of his life. Orphaned at a young age after losing his father to illness just before his bar mitzvah and his mother suddenly at age 15, Baruch has spent his adolescence moving between yeshivas and boarding schools without a stable home or family support. His older siblings, struggling with their own economic challenges, are unable to assist him.

Recently engaged to a woman from a large, economically challenged family, Baruch’s joy has been overshadowed by the stress of covering basic wedding expenses. He admits to taking loans even for small necessities like a gift for his bride and fears starting married life burdened by debt. Baruch shared, “I have suffered enough in my life. I have no choice but to swallow my pride and ask the public for help.”

Rabbi Eliyahu Aharon, supervisor of the Yeshiva 'Yekirei Yerushalayim,' who has supported Baruch for years, described him as a truly exceptional and learned student who has endured immense suffering. The rabbi issued a heartfelt appeal to the public to provide generous charity to help Baruch build his new home and life. He emphasized the mitzvah of supporting an orphaned groom and blessed donors with joy and prosperity.

This call to action invites the community to become Baruch’s family in his moment of need, ensuring he does not face his wedding day alone. Donations are being solicited to alleviate his financial burdens and bring happiness to his home.
