Prominent Rabbi Urges Public to Aid Impoverished Groom Ahead of Wedding

Rabbi Shmuel Zeffreni, a leading halachic authority and head of the yeshiva students' council, has issued an unusual and urgent public appeal for financial assistance to a groom in dire economic straits. The groom, described as "poor and distressed," lacks the basic means to prepare for his upcoming wedding and establish a household. Rabbi Zeffreni personally intervened after learning of the groom's severe hardship and called on the broader community to contribute generously to help him.

In a heartfelt video message, Rabbi Zeffreni emphasized the religious obligation to support those in need, stating, "The poor have nothing, and it is an important mitzvah to support and assist them." He urged fellow Jews to donate with goodwill and generosity to help build a "faithful home in Israel, a house of Torah and reverence." The fundraising campaign is being managed by the Kuppat Ha'Ir charity organization, which has launched Fund No. 5772 with a target contribution of 320 shekels per donor to quickly gather the necessary funds before the wedding.

Kuppat Ha'Ir representatives highlighted the groom's complete lack of resources and stressed that donations are essential to ensure he can enter marriage with dignity and peace of mind. Rabbi Zeffreni concluded his appeal with a special blessing for all contributors, invoking divine reward and prosperity for their generosity. Organizers call on the public not to remain indifferent and to donate promptly to Fund 5772 to rescue the groom from his predicament.
