Israeli Forces Seize Large Cache of Weapons on Drone Crossing Egypt Border

Israeli security forces intercepted a large drone crossing from Egypt into Israel carrying an unusually large quantity of weapons, believed to be destined for the Hamas terrorist organization. The drone was detected at night by IDF observation equipment near the Israel-Egypt border and was captured by troops from the Paran Brigade. Upon dismantling the drone, authorities discovered 21 M16 assault rifles among other arms.

In a related operation, Israeli police arrested a resident of Ar'ara in the Negev on suspicion of illegal weapons possession. During the raid, police found a Carlo-type firearm, improvised weapons, two boxes of 9mm ammunition, a magazine capable of holding 60 rounds, and two magazine holders. This enforcement action is part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and violence within the Arab community.

The seizures highlight continued attempts to smuggle weapons into Israel, particularly to Gaza-based militant groups like Hamas. The IDF and police continue to monitor and act against such threats to national security.
