Attorney Yosef Weitzman Reappointed for Third Term on Magen David Adom Board

Attorney Yosef Weitzman, Deputy Head of the Israel Bar Association, has been reappointed for a third term to the board of Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national emergency medical service. His reappointment was approved by a special majority in the MDA council plenary, an exceptional decision since MDA bylaws typically limit board service to two terms. This extension required both a special council approval and a renewed eligibility committee endorsement.

Weitzman will continue to hold key roles on MDA's finance and audit committees, leveraging his extensive legal expertise and deep understanding of organizational and financial processes to oversee the emergency service's administrative operations. His prior terms included active leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and recent security conflicts, where he gained firsthand knowledge of MDA’s operational and logistical needs.

Alongside his public service, Weitzman manages a prominent law firm specializing in civil and enforcement law. He also founded the "Life-Saving Lawyers Forum," which unites around 400 lawyers nationwide who volunteer as medics and active field responders for MDA. His dual role as a legal professional and public servant underscores the trust placed in him to maintain high standards of governance and operational continuity at MDA.

Following his reappointment, Weitzman expressed his honor in continuing to serve the public and contribute to life-saving efforts, emphasizing the importance of integrating managerial, financial, and volunteer aspects in his work.
