Lawyer Mohammed Na'amneh Re-elected to Judicial Selection Committee Unopposed

Lawyer Mohammed Na'amneh, head of the Northern District of the Israel Bar Association, has been re-elected to the committee responsible for selecting judges for a third consecutive term. The election was confirmed officially today after the nomination period closed with no other candidates stepping forward, resulting in Na'amneh securing the position by acclamation without a vote.

The National Council of the Israel Bar Association, comprising 44 members, is responsible for electing the association's representatives to legal committees. This council includes ex-officio members such as the head of the Bar Association, the State Attorney, the Director-General of the Ministry of Justice, and the Military Advocate General.

Na'amneh's previous elections to the committee were also successful. In 2020, he won with 26 votes against Doron Barzilai's 12 and Yitzhak Gordon's 5. In 2023, he secured a significant victory with 34 votes compared to Yitzhak Netovitch's 3. He also won the chairmanship of the Northern District by acclamation in the same year due to a lack of competition.
