The story · English

A father and his six children, aged 9 to 19, who went missing during a hike in Nahal Gov were located by the Arava Rescue Unit volunteers on Monday. The family had set out from the city of Ovot at 8:00 AM, equipped with water, hats, and hiking shoes. They last communicated with their mother at 11:30 AM, reporting exhaustion due to the intense heat but hoping to complete the trail within half an hour. After losing contact, the mother alerted rescue teams.

The rescue unit quickly mobilized from Hatzavah and Idan to the area. The family was found very tired but in good condition and was taken to a cooled vehicle for fluids and initial treatment. Magen David Adom ambulance teams arrived to assess their medical needs and decide if hospital transport was necessary.

This incident highlights the dangers of hiking in extreme heat and the importance of timely rescue operations. The family is currently receiving care on site, with further medical evaluation pending.
