Orthodox Jewish Teens Clear Fallen Tree Blocking Ambulance Near Washington Hospital

Strong storms swept through the Washington, D.C. area last Tuesday, causing widespread damage including fallen trees that blocked roads. A group of Orthodox Jewish teenagers from a summer camp, returning to Baltimore, came across a large tree blocking a road near Sibley Memorial Hospital. Seeing an ambulance stuck behind the tree, the teens quickly joined forces to remove it by hand. One of the boys, Yechezkel, told local TV station WUSA9 that they acted out of unity, saying, "It was called 'achdut' in Hebrew, meaning togetherness." The local broadcasters praised the teens for their quick response and community spirit. Despite the severe weather, no injuries were reported in the area.
