Woman Miraculously Survives After Giant Tree Falls on Her in Monsey Haredi Neighborhood
On Monday afternoon around 5:00 PM, a large tree suddenly collapsed onto a woman on Walter Drive in Monsey, a predominantly Haredi neighborhood. The heavy tree struck her shoulder and knocked her to the ground, with the trunk landing less than a centimeter from her head but not causing fatal injury, allowing her to continue breathing while trapped beneath it.
Rescue teams responded swiftly, including volunteers from the Chaverim of Rockland organization, who used specialized equipment to carefully lift the massive tree and free the woman. Additional assistance came from the Monsey Fire Department, emergency medical volunteers, Ramapo police, and other volunteers.
Despite the severity of the incident, the woman remained conscious throughout the rescue and was transported to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition. Authorities described her survival as a true miracle given the circumstances.
