Poll Shows 13% of Netanyahu Coalition Voters Switching to Opposition in Upcoming Israeli Elections

A recent Channel 13 news poll reveals a tight race between Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party and Gadi Eizenkot's Yisrael Beiteinu for the largest party in Israel's upcoming elections. Among voters who supported Netanyahu's bloc in 2022, 56% intend to remain loyal, 14% are undecided, while a notable 13% plan to switch to the opposition bloc. Additionally, 11% will shift to another party within the coalition, and 6% say they will abstain from voting.

The poll also explored perceptions of extremism among parties. Within coalition supporters, 88% view the Arab party Balad as the most extreme, followed by 69% who see the Democrats as extreme. Otzma Yehudit is considered extreme by 25% of coalition voters, while Likud is regarded as the least extreme. Among opposition supporters and undecided voters, 77% identify Otzma Yehudit as the most extreme, with religious Zionist parties and Arab and ultra-Orthodox parties also rated highly for extremism.

Following Prime Minister Netanyahu's recent summit with U.S. President Donald Trump, the poll asked about attitudes toward Iran. Forty-five percent support renewing military action against Iran, while 32% oppose it. When asked if they trust Trump to prevent Iran's nuclear ambitions, 62% of the general public expressed distrust. However, 58% of coalition supporters do trust Trump on this issue.

The survey was conducted by HaMidmad in collaboration with Stat-Net, HaMidgam Project, and Askaria, with statistical advice from Professor David Steinberg. It included 956 respondents and has a margin of error of 3.5%.
