Israeli Attorney General Orders Police to Investigate Likud Over Possible False Affidavit to Supreme Court
Israeli Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and State Attorney Amit Isman have instructed the police to investigate whether the Likud party submitted a false affidavit to the Supreme Court regarding the appointment of the State Comptroller. The Likud claimed in their affidavit and during court proceedings that no directive was given to Knesset members to film themselves voting. However, Knesset member Sharren Haskel stated in her affidavit that such an instruction was indeed given. Following this contradiction, the Attorney General ordered an open testimony from Haskel. If she does not change her position, a criminal investigation may be initiated.
