The Tel Aviv District Court sentenced an Israeli man to life imprisonment for the aggravated murder of his father-in-law in Ramat Gan in June 2022. The victim, a respected family man and father of four, was shot six times after returning from synagogue on Shabbat. The court ruled the killing was premeditated, rejecting the defense's claim that the defendant was intoxicated and lacked intent. The conflict stemmed from a family dispute following the separation of the defendant's son and the victim's daughter, who had two children together. The defendant blamed the victim for the family breakdown and sent threatening messages prior to the murder.

On the morning of the killing, the defendant acquired a handgun, magazine, and ammunition from an associate near Hadera and traveled to the victim's home in Ramat Gan. He waited at the building entrance, accompanied the victim in the elevator, and shot him in the stairwell near his apartment. The victim died minutes later while his wife, daughter, and two young grandchildren, also the defendant's grandchildren, were inside the apartment and heard the gunshots and cries.

The court noted the defendant's clear awareness and control during the incident, citing his competent driving, parking, and coherent communication with police after arrest. The judges condemned the act as a tragic escalation of a family crisis into a deep intergenerational disaster. In addition to life imprisonment, the defendant received suspended sentences for weapons and threats offenses and was ordered to pay 150,000 shekels in compensation to the victim's four children. The victim's widow had already been compensated in a separate civil proceeding.
