Israeli Police Officer Fired for Threatening Family but Won't Face Criminal Charges

The Israeli Police Investigations Department decided not to press criminal charges against a police officer who threatened his wife and children, saying things like, "I will blow you up, I will stand on your neck." The closure decision stated that "the criminal process is not an appropriate framework" for this case. During the investigation, recordings were obtained in which the child asks the mother, "Is that a police officer?" and the father replies, "I am not a police officer, I am a criminal." Despite testimonies from the mother and children and the recordings, the Israel Police ultimately decided to dismiss the officer from service. However, the Investigations Department concluded that the circumstances did not warrant criminal prosecution, emphasizing that the criminal process was not suitable for resolving this matter.
