Jerusalem Closes Begin Road Southbound for Public Transport Project Work

Jerusalem drivers should prepare for significant traffic disruptions as the city municipality, Ministry of Transport, and Moriah Company begin complex engineering work on Begin Road. Starting Thursday, July 23 at 8:00 PM until Friday, July 24 at 12:00 PM, the southbound section of Begin Road between Yigal Yadin Interchange and Givat Shaul Interchange will be closed. The closure is necessary to lift bicycle bridges as part of a public transport lane (NATZ) paving project along this route.

During the closure, drivers will be redirected to alternative routes, and the Jerusalem municipality will deploy traffic supervisors to manage and guide traffic on nearby roads. Motorists are advised to check navigation apps like Waze before traveling. The municipality emphasized that these works are part of completing the NATZ project on Begin Road, aimed at improving public transportation, increasing road capacity, and enhancing travel safety. The city thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the works.
