Brazilian media reported on July 20 that Sport Recife outright rejected Hapoel Tel Aviv's interest in acquiring winger Christian Barleta. While Hapoel Tel Aviv showed initial interest in the 25-year-old player, they did not submit a formal offer. Sport Recife made it clear they are not open to negotiations for Barleta during the current transfer window, effectively ending any potential deal.
Barleta was purchased by Sport Recife about two and a half years ago for 1.2 million euros and still has two years remaining on his contract. Earlier reports indicated that Sport Recife is demanding over 2.5 million euros for the player, a price that could complicate the transfer. The rejection suggests that Hapoel Tel Aviv will need to look elsewhere to strengthen their right-wing position.
The situation remains unresolved, but with Sport Recife firm on their stance, the transfer of Barleta to Israel appears unlikely at this time.
