Hapoel Tel Aviv secured a 3-1 victory on penalties against Beitar Jerusalem in the Toto Cup after a 2-2 draw in regular time. Meanwhile, Israeli sports media linked Christian Barleta, an attacking midfielder from Brazilian club Sport Recife, to Hapoel Tel Aviv. The club has been monitoring several players over recent years, with Barleta included on their watchlist, though he is not necessarily their top priority.

Reports from Brazil indicate that Sport Recife values Barleta at a minimum of four million euros, following recent refusals to entertain loan offers or partial ownership sales from other clubs. Barleta, 25, is a childhood friend of Chico, a player who joined Hapoel Tel Aviv last year. Additionally, Barleta holds an Italian passport, which could facilitate a future move to European clubs.

Hapoel Tel Aviv is prepared to invest significantly in their final foreign signing this season and is currently in talks with several high-profile candidates. One of these players is expected to arrive soon at the club's training facility in Hodorov.
