Jonathan Motley, the center for Hapoel Tel Aviv, is currently in negotiations with Serbian club Red Star Belgrade ahead of the upcoming season. Motley, who extended his contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv in March for two additional years plus an option for a third, has been performing well, averaging 8.3 points in 14.6 minutes per game. Despite his recent contract extension, valued at approximately 5 million euros in total, Motley is reportedly in talks that could lead to a transfer.

Red Star Belgrade has seen several key players depart this summer, including Joel Bolomboy, who signed with Villeurbanne, veteran Dontas Motiejunas, and former Maccabi Tel Aviv player Hassiel Rivera, who struggled with injuries throughout the previous season. These departures may be motivating the Serbian club to strengthen their roster by pursuing Motley.

The initial report about Motley's new contract was first published by Sport 5, the same outlet that revealed the ongoing negotiations with Red Star. The discussions highlight the dynamic nature of European basketball transfers and the interest in Motley as a valuable player for the next season.
