Maccabi Tel Aviv is currently awaiting a critical decision from star player Loni Walker, who holds an NBA release clause that expires at midnight between Wednesday and Thursday. Although Walker is under contract with Maccabi for the upcoming season, he can leave for the NBA without compensation if he secures a deal by the deadline.
Walker and his agent are in Las Vegas participating in the NBA Summer League, engaging in talks with several teams but have yet to finalize any agreement. Meanwhile, Maccabi has already signed Bonzi Colson and Yam Madar and is actively seeking reinforcements for the center position.
Negotiations are also underway with Ife Lundberg for the backcourt, a position the coaching staff is keen to strengthen regardless of Walker's future. However, the club plans to make further roster decisions only after Walker's status is confirmed. The outcome will significantly influence Maccabi's next moves in building their squad for the season.
