Maccabi Tel Aviv is currently awaiting a crucial decision from star player Loni Walker, who holds an NBA release clause valid until midnight between Wednesday and Thursday. Although Walker is under contract with Maccabi for the upcoming season, he can leave for the NBA without compensation if he secures a deal by the deadline. Walker and his agent are in Las Vegas attending the NBA Summer League, engaging in talks with multiple teams but have yet to finalize any agreement.

Meanwhile, Maccabi has already signed Bonzie Colson and Yam Madar as part of their efforts to strengthen the center position. The team is also negotiating with Iffe Lundberg to continue with their backcourt, a decision that is reportedly independent of Walker's future. However, the club plans to make further roster moves only after Walker's status is confirmed, as his departure or retention will significantly influence their next steps.

The deadline for Walker's NBA release clause is pivotal for Maccabi's roster strategy heading into the new season, with the club balancing ongoing negotiations and potential changes in the backcourt lineup based on his decision.
