Prince Harry Declines Buckingham Palace Stay Amid Security Dispute During UK Visit

Prince Harry's upcoming visit to London has been marked by a new controversy after it was revealed he will not stay at Buckingham Palace. Palace officials stated that Harry's team failed to confirm the accommodation offer by the deadline, leading to its withdrawal due to necessary security and logistical preparations. Conversely, Harry's representatives claimed they believed the invitation itself was canceled, calling the situation "particularly disappointing."

The visit centers on promoting the Invictus Games, an international sporting event for wounded veterans scheduled for next year in Birmingham. Harry is expected to attend charity events, visit a children's hospital, and tour the national exhibition center hosting the games. He will travel alone, without his wife Meghan Markle or their children Archie and Lilibet, following a decision that the family would not receive state-funded police protection.

This security funding issue has been a major source of tension between Harry and British authorities since he and Meghan stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States. Harry has publicly contested the security arrangements, previously stating he would not bring his family to the UK without adequate protection.
