Prince Harry Accepts Buckingham Palace Invitation for UK Charity Visit Without Family

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has officially accepted an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace during his upcoming visit to London this week, a spokesperson confirmed. The visit will include participation in various charity events, notably those marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, as well as activities with other charitable organizations.

However, Harry's wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, will not accompany him on this trip. This decision follows weeks of speculation amid serious security concerns, as the family’s protection arrangements outside the palace are not fully covered by the state.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California, Harry lost his entitlement to state-funded police security. He unsuccessfully appealed this decision and has previously expressed that he does not foresee bringing his family to the UK due to genuine fears for their safety.

The visit marks a rare official royal engagement for Harry without his family, highlighting ongoing tensions and security challenges following his and Meghan’s departure from frontline royal roles.
