Jeep Launches Third-Generation Compass SUV in Israel with Upgraded Features and Pricing

Jeep has introduced the third-generation Compass compact SUV to the Israeli market, sharing its STLA Medium platform with the Opel Grandland, Peugeot 3008, and Citroën C5 Aircross. The new Compass is significantly larger than its predecessor, measuring 4.55 meters in length (14.4 cm longer), 1.90 meters in width (3 cm wider), and 1.68 meters in height (4.9 cm taller), with a wheelbase extended by 14.8 cm to 2.78 meters and a 55-liter increase in trunk capacity to 493 liters.

Initially, the Compass will be available in Israel with a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine featuring mild hybrid technology, delivering 145 horsepower and 23.4 kgm of torque. It pairs with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive, accelerating to 100 km/h in 10 seconds and achieving fuel consumption of 17.5 km per liter. This engine is more powerful than the previous 1.5-liter mild hybrid version but offers slightly less torque. A plug-in hybrid variant with a 1.6-liter turbo engine and electric motor producing a combined 195 horsepower is expected in the future.

The Compass comes in two trim levels: the entry-level Altitude and the more equipped First Edition. The Altitude includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless connectivity, heated front seats and steering wheel, 360-degree cameras, and advanced safety features such as six airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, blind-spot warning with collision prevention, and driver monitoring. It received a 4 out of 8 rating from the Israeli Ministry of Transport safety index, with the related Opel Grandland having earned 4 stars in Euro NCAP tests.

The First Edition adds synthetic leather upholstery, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats with massage and memory functions, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, matrix LED headlights, a two-tone paint scheme, illuminated Jeep logos, dark rear windows, roof rails, and a premium Focal sound system with nine speakers and a subwoofer. All versions feature the Selec-Terrain system with four driving modes (snow, sport, auto, sand/mud) to optimize traction and stability.

Off-road capabilities include a 20-degree approach angle, 27-degree departure angle, 16-degree breakover angle, 20 cm ground clearance, a towing capacity of 600 kg (up to 1,150 kg with brakes), and a water fording depth of 40.8 cm. Pricing starts at 210,000 shekels for the Altitude trim and 225,000 shekels for the First Edition. Warranty covers three years or 60,000 km, extendable to 100,000 km for an additional fee, with service intervals set at one year or 15,000 km, whichever comes first.
