Israeli Midfielder Yonatan Cohen Signs With Bangkok United in Thailand

Israeli midfielder Yonatan Cohen has officially signed with Bangkok United, marking his third overseas club in his professional career. The transfer was first reported by Sport Channel and Sport 5 on July 4, 2026. Cohen will earn an annual salary of 300,000 euros at the Thai club, which finished fifth in the recent Thai League season.

Bangkok United's squad mainly consists of local players but also includes several foreign talents, such as two Brazilians: Rivaldinho, son of former World Cup winner Rivaldo, and Felipe Santos, a former Hapoel Haifa player who is expected to finalize his contract soon. Cohen joins the team following a successful domestic career in Israel, where he won three championships with Maccabi Tel Aviv and two cups with both Maccabi Tel Aviv and Bnei Yehuda.

In the 2025-26 season, Cohen played for Hapoel Petah Tikva, scoring four goals in 22 appearances as the club returned to the Israeli Premier League. His previous international stints include playing for Pisa in Italy's Serie B during the 2021-22 season and Melbourne City in Australia in 2024-25, where he scored a championship-winning goal. This move to Bangkok United represents a new chapter in Cohen's career as he continues to explore opportunities abroad.
