Israeli Midfielder Yonatan Cohen Signs with Bangkok United in Thailand

Israeli footballer Yonatan Cohen has signed with Bangkok United, marking his third overseas club in his professional career. The transfer was first reported by Sport Channel and confirmed on July 4, 2026. Cohen joins the Thai League club after leaving Hapoel Petah Tikva, where he scored four goals in 22 appearances during the previous season, helping the team return to the Israeli Premier League.

Bangkok United finished fifth in the Thai League last season and features a mostly local squad supplemented by several foreign players, including two Brazilians: Rivaldinho, son of former World Cup winner Rivaldo, and Felipe Santos, a former Hapoel Haifa player who is expected to finalize his contract soon. Cohen brings significant experience, having won three league titles and two cups with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Bnei Yehuda.

Prior to joining Bangkok United, Cohen played for Pisa in Italy's Serie B during the 2021/22 season and Melbourne City in Australia in 2024/25, where he scored a championship-winning goal. His move to Thailand represents a new chapter in his international career.
