Member of Knesset Ayman Odeh is reportedly facing serious suspicions of receiving large sums of money from foreign entities, allegedly linked to the Palestinian Authority. The Shin Bet security agency has also sought to investigate Ra'am Chairman Mansour Abbas, Ta'al Chairman Ahmed Tibi, and Balad Chairman Sami Abu Shehadeh without initial evidence. However, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara refused these requests, stating that investigations require evidence. Odeh is the only one for whom an investigation under caution has been agreed upon, apparently due to existing evidence.

The investigation began on election day, with four activists suspected of being Ra'am operatives arrested hours before polls opened, carrying significant amounts of cash and Ra'am ballots. It is unclear if these arrests are connected to the probe into the Arab party leaders, though the activists have since been released. The election saw a significant rise in voting among Arab citizens, with turnout reaching approximately 77%, partly attributed to public sentiment regarding the government's conduct towards Arab citizens.

Election Committee Chairman Noam Sohlberg had instructed Shin Bet head David Zini to launch an investigation into suspected foreign interference on election day. Coalition parties, Channel 14, and Israel Radio have extensively covered these suspicions, dubbing them "ballot box terror" and other terms linking the alleged offenses to Arab leaders and citizens. Some Likud bloc parties, including Otzma Yehudit and Religious Zionism, have threatened to reject the election results, with MK Amit Halevi resigning from the Central Elections Committee in protest.

The Shin Bet informed the Elections Committee of suspicions regarding widespread foreign funding and influence, with large sums allegedly being funneled into Israel from foreign countries by entities with covert or hostile interests. The agency stated that the information gathered suggests extensive foreign funding and influence operations involving thousands of people, requiring further intelligence and investigative efforts to establish the full scope with high certainty.

In response, Odeh stated that the high Arab voter turnout has agitated Prime Minister Netanyahu and "fascists," attributing the investigation to fear of losing power and calling it "political persecution" that will soon be exposed. He predicted more "spins and lies" as the Knesset's swearing-in and the end of Netanyahu's term approach, urging continued responsible action to fundamentally change the government.
