Political commentator Amit Segal launched a sharp attack on the Public Broadcasting Corporation (Kan 11) on Wednesday, criticizing its ultimatum to presenter Ayelet Hasson. Hasson was reportedly required to read an apology and clarification, approved by the news division's management, or face suspension from her program. Hasson, who had previously apologized for remarks concerning Bedouin women, refused the demand and announced she would not broadcast that evening.

Segal, writing on his X account, sarcastically congratulated the corporation for finally finding a flaw in one of its presenters after a decade of perceived flawless balance and fair representation of all views. He added that those who appease a "small cult" should seek their funding from that cult, not the public.

Moriah Asraf, a political correspondent, defended Hasson, calling her an "important voice in Israeli media" and expressing concern over the corporation's actions for anyone who values democracy. The Likud party also criticized the corporation's management, characterizing the treatment of Hasson as a "preview of the thought police we will get if the left bloc forms a government." The party described Hasson as a "brave, lone voice in a biased and monotonous broadcasting corporation."
